Is This a Dream (original poetry)
I walk now through these shadows feeling unseen
Unaware of myself and my gleam
When suddenly a hand grabs hold of mine and I scream
Is this a dream
This hand so warm and so bold
I try to put on a face but I fold
With such a simple touch she breaks down my wall
I stagger and stumble but she stops my fall
She takes my cheek and says “I’ve heard your call”
“Not with your voice but with the sound of your all”
She looks into my eyes and tells me “They have such light”
So simple, so sweet, she staves off the night
She pulls me in and says she feels relief
For she has found another with a heart on their sleeve
This is warmth, this is real, that’s what I believe
And if this is a dream, then let me say, I hope to never leave
