Dreaming Futures

Nighttime janitor, dreaming of riches
To get him out of crippling debt
His coworker's homeless, his mind is tense
His joints corroded, tired, and bent.


Nighttime janitor, dreaming of riches
Beyond what he currently holds
Which is enough for rent and cigs
And bags of Doritos.


Nighttime janitor, dreaming of riches
Is all too common a story
In this day of crypto and semio/capital
Where labor bends to fictitious glory.
