The Writers' Block Poetry Contest #3 Results and Contest #4
The Writers’ Block Poetry Contest (#twbpoetrycontest) had a hard time choosing the WINNERS from the 3rd week’s contest, BECAUSE THE ENTRIES THIS WEEK WERE OUTSTANDING. Seriously, we say this sincerely to each and every one of you that entered this week: give yourself a huge pat on the back.
The competition was fierce, but eventually we did come up with the results, which will be coming shortly. After that, we will be presenting the prompt for week 4!
First, let’s take a moment to appreciate our five judges, because without them, none of this would be possible:
@sunravelme
@damianjayclay
@jrswab
@jessandthesea
@dbooster
Now, the winners:
First place and 15 SBD: @negativer’s poem The Toll
Second place and 10 SBD: @yahialababidi’s poem Hope
Third place and 7 SBD: @meco’s poem The Exchange
Congratulations! Your poems inspired by your favorite poets were awesome, awesome, awesome. Check out the winners’ poems for some fantastic reading :)
The Writers’ Block Poetry Contest: Week 4
WRITING PROMPT:
Respond in a poem to the following quote:
Genius is the activity which repairs the decays of things, whether wholly or partly of a material and finite kind. Nature through all her kingdoms, insures herself. Nobody cares for planting the poor fungus: so she shakes down from the gills of one agaric countless spores, any one of which, being preserved, transmits new billions of spores to-morrow or next day.
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
- Original work only. All plagiarized entries will be disqualified.
- Unless designated by the prompt, the structure of the poem can be anything you like. Free verse, rhymed, and prose poetry are all 100% welcome.
- One entry per person, per week.
- Post your poem to your own blog to enter. The title of your post should be [the title of your poem - Writers Block Poetry Contest Week 4].
- Tag your entry with #twbpoetrycontest
- Post a link to your poem in the replies to this post.
- This contest runs until 23:59 UTC / GMT Feb 21st.
- The winner will receive 15 SBD. Second place will win 10 SBD and third will receive 7 SBD.
Good luck!
Once again, a super warm thank you to our wonderful sponsors @anomadsoul and @gmuxx for their generous support for this poetry contest, making it possible that the winners receive an SBD prize. If you feel so inclined, an easy way to show your gratitude to @gmuxx would be to vote for him as a witness! It’s such a simple and kind gesture for someone to show your support for someone who is so committed to the Steemit community.

Genius The Plant
~
An exceptional intellectual creative power, containing natural ability,
this entheogen spore growth will produce spiritual tranquility.
Euphoria, altered thinking processes, closed and open-eye visuals,
smelling of colors, seeing the odors, hearing pixels.
Psilocybin and Psilocin cause visual enhancement and colors contrasting,
auras and halos strange light phenomena mostly temporary but some everlasting.
Increased sight acuity, surfaces that seem to ripple, shimmer and shine,
trails of light lager behind moving objects, a psychedelic sign.

Greetings I've posted a poem (Dust on my Palm) for your week # 4 contest. Thanks for the opportunity. I'm an old fart and am not sure this comment is considered a link but hope so. I'm also one of the newer kids on the block (chain) so still trying to make my way. Blessings.
Here, let me help you out. The link to @mistermercury's poem is here
Next time, just copy and paste the url in your comment. That should be good enough. You can always go back and edit your comment to add the url to your poem as well.
@moneyinfant has added your contest to the list Steemit Writing Contests: Issue #20. The list is updated on a daily basis and your contest will remain on the list until its expiration - there's nothing you need to do.
The list was created to save writers the excessive amount of time spent searching through the #contest tag for writing contests. Now they can just come to the list each day, see new contests and use their time doing what they love - writing.
If you'd like to help spread the word about the Steemit Writing Contest List I'd really appreciate a resteem, but it certainly isn't necessary. The project is simply meant to help writers save time and contest creators attract more contestants.
P.S. If you know of any contests I've missed I'd love to hear about them. Thanks!
Resteemed. The more entrants, the merrier.
thank you <3 !!!
Glad to! Happy Valentine's Day.
