Lovesmith’s SongsteemCreated with Sketch.

I laid down my broken sword,
By the sweet soft pads of your feet.
We lit a fire so deep in the forge,
Wrought truth and beauty from love
With our hammers and tongues.

We folded the iron of my sadness,
Time and time into the steel of your pain.
We smote and we heated through the jet
Black coals of night.
And by dawn the Damascus blade
Became tempered and strong.

Shining were the mirrors of our souls,
Bringing a healing light,
Far sown, to the shadows.
Our lips drew courage out from the well of a kiss,
Turning the lead of fear into gold.

We woke the sleeping chest of an ancient tribal dream.
We found the footpath back to the land.
We remembered joy is,
Cast hard in the nature of things.
Our bodies dancing hand
Upon hand.

We poured the running streams of our voices,
Into the thunder-gushing heart of the song.
We made love with the fruits of the flint and the soil,
All through the weather seasons,
Winding and long.

You, my love, are the daughter of the moon.
I, my love, the son of the sun.
And on the dew-laced grass of the flowering field
We’ll meet as the day begins,
Our souls, come together, as one.
