If you see him
Make no mistake
He looks proud
His pride is with substance
When he boasts
He is talking sense
His purpose is accomplishable
His strength
Is the envy of many
He is powerful
He knows it
And uses what he has -

Mr. President
The king
Your anger is like a curse
Your enemies -
Woe to them
They lack sound sleep
Their friends turn the other way
When your anger overflows

While the powerful condemn you publicly
And hug you privately
The weak praise you publicly
And curse you at your back

Enmity with you is a nightmare
You're too powerful."

But, the inevitable table turning day
Who knows?
The day of reckoning!
Sycophants change dresses
Praise singers find another tune
As the mask falls off
Mere mortality comes to light
The immutable fact rebounds -
"Man is man after all"
But, as of today
The refrain remains -

"Friendship with you is an asset
Enmity with you is a nightmare
You're too powerful
