Poem / I'm here
I'm here
I stood right here
I could smell your breath
I could sense your fear
We stood under the bridge
At the edge of Sixth
Just south of West Ridge
What could I do to get you fixed
Taking you under my arm
I pointed you in the direction of my car
No hesitation on your part
Stop trying to think
It'll only lead you back to drink
It'll leave you hopeless and far beyond the brink
There's so much pain in her eyes
I couldn't bare the thought of telling her lies
She lay in the passenger seat
Her face pale and bleak
She shivered from the cold
She was soaked to the bone
How could I be the one to receive this
A lost puppy, a stray without a home
An abuse animal
Just looking for sanctuary
From all the hurt and the scars
From all the pain that left its marks
The night was rough
She lay in my bed
A screech sent me running
I rolled her over and cradled her head
It's fine
There's nothing there
You're safe
I'm here

so good poem.
Lovely! That was amazing! Really cute & deep xD Keep going!
Pretty good, I liked it, a cool poem. What are you inspired to write such works?
The beauty of you Ethan is that I know you would help anyone who needs a warm hand, a gentle embrace and comforting words. Despite your own pain, you would go beyond that and reach out. That is what your poems do for me. Thank-you for being you!
