within the way
and without the finished
in and on the roof
sat the man
about town
about his comfort

a selfish greed
permeated north
from his chimney
infecting the neighbors
who wanted more
more than he
and yet he had everything
and learned it meant nothing
to him

in and on and about life
he would ramble, and go,
and pass around
and miss,
realizing his errors.

the eyes of the animals
a strange ape
wandering
collecting
and living.
