An Introduction To The Days Of Prehistory
Dear reader
obtrusive observer
the belief printed before you is not the end
Behave at this revelation
obvious though it may be
settle down
Mop your brow
Place your bottle
glass if you need it and tobacco to hand
It will become apparent
as the pace slows
that the constraint of form and function
will threaten to smother us in its bosomy embrace
arriving at conclusions far from intention
Here we can encounter
the threatening
the harmless the broad and narrow
All hell will bring you no reward
if that is all you seek
Trust these words
They will lure you
Just read them
Settle in
No thieving pages await
no dodging the facts or fantasy
maybe a short passage
here and there to remind us
of why we are here
created as we were in towers
of narrative indecisions
a collision of taste fought out
between the bully and the dinosaur
