0.89.1 Pokemon Go Updates Observation
So yesterday I've updated the App to the latest version, 0.89.1
As found in the Niantic website:
- Resolved a bug that caused the Pokémon list to go back to the top after making changes.
- Sorted Pokedex by Region.
- Improved incubator sorting order.
- Pokemon scaling.
- Performance updates.
The first improvement is so much appreciated. It was such a hassle maintaining the Pokemon collection if it goes back to the top after I simply rename the Pokemon. You see, my Pokemon Storage is limited; my coins are not enough to buy additional storage since I need to prioritize the raid passes. So I really have to monitor the monsters and throw away the undesirables :). So Kudos to Niantic for this change!
I just saw the second update when I go to the Pokedex option, and its now sorted per Region ( Kanto, Johto and Hoenn). I guess it makes it more organize and shows my Pokemon catches so far. It then shows I still have lots of Hoenn monsters to catch and few Kanto and Johto monsters left. The Kanto and Johto monsters that I haven't caught yet are those regionals and unreleased monsters so I guess we are still good to go.
I also noticed the third update after an egg hatched. When I was about the incubate another one, the change was then noticed. It's another way of making it more organized.
The fourth update was seen right after I updated the app since we were raiding Kyogre that time.
a.. Kyogre is not so far this time so at least it's easier to catch (by some percentage, hehe).
b. The buddy pokemon scale also changed, since my Chansey's image has become bigger, making half of its face only seen. I've also seen other monster scaled down like Feebas; it's entire body is seen completely.
c. When I also caught a Nidoran yesterday, it looked so small and appear far. But when I throw the Pokeball, it was still easily caught.
d. The gyms in the Pokemon also got scaled, as Kyogre looked bigger and almost occupied the gym surrounding.
Below shows Ekans being small looking than before.
I still have to observe the other scaling that they've made. But they likely adjusted the scaling to height, weight of the Pokemon. This scaling as I can recall already happened before during raid battles, so I guess this is a continuation to make it more realistic.
Other bug fixes and performances are still to be observed so we'll see.
