Let me get this straight: I'm no expert on building or demolition, I’m learning though ;) Our construction work began with the breaking off the room and floors in the attic. This was necessary to determine the condition of the ceiling. It was only when we exposed the beams that it was known whether it would have to be replaced or not. Warning: here comes the spoiler. The ceiling stays :)
Powiem wprost: nie znam się na budowaniu ani rozbiórkach, dopiero się uczę ;) Nasze prace budowlane zaczęliśmy od rozebrania pokoju i podłóg na poddaszu. Było to konieczne dla określenia stanu stropu. Dopiero kiedy odkryliśmy belki wiadomo było czy trzeba je będzie wymieniać czy nie. Uwaga, spoiler: strop zostaje :)
So we put helmets on our heads, masks on our faces and demolition began :)
No to kaski na głowy, maski na twarz i ruszamy do roboty :)
Most of the work actually done my husband. And he began by breaking down the walls of the room. A lot of dust and bricks…
Większość pracy tak naprawdę wykonał mój mąż. A zaczął od rozebrania ścian pokoju. Dużo kurzu i cegieł...
Then it was time for the ceiling. Even more dust :)
Potem przyszła kolej na sufit. Jeszcze więcej kurzu :)
It took a lot of time and energy to take the clay out of the attic. It was everywhere between the beams. First, it had to be broken with a hammer, then put into buckets and carried down the stairs. Really hard, physical work. Here is part of our clay mountain, already in the garden.
Dużo czasu i siły kosztowało nas wyniesienie z poddasza gliny. Była wszędzie między belkami. Najpierw trzeba ją było roztłuc młotkiem, przełożyć do wiader i znieść schodami na dół. Naprawdę ciężka, fizyczna robota. Tu część naszej glinianej góry, już w ogrodzie.
The floor was still left. Breaking off these planking was not a walk in the park. The nails were solid and kept the beams properly. But we did it :) It lasted about two weeks, but today I am proud to show you our cleaned attic.
Została jeszcze podłoga. Zerwanie tych desek to nie był spacerek po parku. Gwoździe były solidne i trzymały się belek jak trzeba. Ale udało się :) Trwało to ok. dwóch tygodni, ale oto dzisiaj z dumą mogę Wam pokazać nasze wyczyszczone poddasze.
It was cold, hard, but the satisfaction of a well-done task is unimaginable :)
We managed, something moved forward.
Demolition work on the ground floor we put in the hands of professionals. Even if I really wanted, I will not break the concrete floor with a hammer ;)

Było zimno, ciężko, ale satysfakcja z dobrze wykonanego zadania jest niewyobrażalna :)
Daliśmy radę, coś się ruszyło do przodu.
Prace rozbiórkowe na parterze oddajemy w ręce profesjonalistów. Nawet gdybym bardzo chciała, betonowej posadzki młotkiem nie rozbiję ;)
Ciąg dalszy nastąpi. I to już niedługo :)

The attic looks amazing! It'll make for a great space to cosy down with a book. Serious points to you guys for all this work. Can't wait to see how you're going to treat all that wood.
