YOUTH TAKE THE LEAD

Who is a youth?. Nigeria classifies any body between the age range of 18-35 as a youth. This is considered as the prime of every individual, this is a time when one builds his/her life. It is the foundational stage, that if missed the individual begins to build his life on a faulty foundation, what ever goal or target the individual set's at this time remains to a large extent the path such a person's life would take.

This formative stage is critical to the existence of an individual, as a useful and independent person, it is a time for proper planning and critical thinking, as any mistake at this point could result to malformation. At this stage most youth have already discovered the purpose and reason for their existence, and hence began to work on that path to stardom. Youths who discovered their purpose at an earlier stage of this youth period, have more tendencies of making it in life than their counterparts who did not. Little wonder why private and even government establishment considers mainly youth below twenty nine (29) for start up employment. This shows that it is vital every youth makes haste while the sun shines.

It is worthy of mention to note that, youth who have since engaged in productive activities as entrepreneurs from this stage of their lives build up a formidable business structure before their old age. Most rich men in the country and even the world started their businesses at a youthful age, and today are the world richest men. What ever you do with your today would result to your tomorrow. If you decide to work for others all through this prime period of your life, without taking a lead in the business, religious, academics, entertainment, society and politics we the youth would continue to remain under the shakles of those who did, and the old generation.

Youth take the lead, decide your tomorrow, plan for the tomorrow of your dream and choice. A woman once said I have learnt to go through temporary hard times to create a permanent good tomorrow. We must begin to take the bull by its horn, we must learn to take calculated risk, we must begin to aspire for a better tomorrow by engaging ourselves in sustainable activities. We must begin to question the status quo, begin to demand what should be ours, we must hence begin to take bold steps in taking the leads, not just in entertainment as it is evident we have, as well as sports, but we must also begin to look into the business world, looks impossible?, no start up funds (capital), no favourable laws?. Ohh we should begin to look for ways to break these obstacles and take the lead, just like Mark Zuckerberg who is a youth but has broken that jinx.

In our clime, to ensure we take the lead, the first step of action would be to be United in one course, to leverage on one anothers potentials, to begin to support each other especially those youths who are into businesses, sports, entertainment and politics. We must begin to believe in ourselves, begin to see possibilities, begin to see ingenuity in us, because it would take considerable ingenuity to fix our nation's problem. And the change the nation requires would definitely not come from the old generation but, begins with me and you.
