It certainly takes a certain type of personality to want to become a politician of any persuasion. I see a total lack of empathy in someone's personality as a sign of evil. There's probably not much difference between a high achieving individual who ruthlessly gets 'to the top' in their profession, and a serial killer. One goes after money, excitement and power; the other goes after excitement and power.
