Congresswoman absent from work since July, 2024 is "found" in nursing home
Are any of you frustrated by lack of term-limits that result in us having the same people in office for decades? I know that I am frustrated by it even though I don't think it really matters who is in there because they are all just puppets of a very broken system anyway but this particular story is one that should really have people concerned not just about the fact that this woman is in office, but that she is continually voted back into office despite her age and now, well, the fact that she isn't even capable of living her life on her own. This is the person that her constituents think would be best at her job in her district?

I'm sure that Kay Granger is a very nice lady to people that she is related to and maybe has some other good qualities as well but the fact that when she was absent from Congress for a long period of time and nobody was willing to tell where the hell she was, there was some fear that she might be deceased. Well, someone tracked her down and found out that she was staying in an assisted living home, that some have also dubbed as a "memory home" as well.
I don't think the media would have pointed this out at all had it not been for the fact that she is Republican. There are plenty of other faces that have been in office that show signs of being really old and incapable of remembering things or are even losing control of their bodies. To keep it fair I will talk about 2 from each side so that nobody gets their panties in a wad over this. Dianne Feinstein is a wreck, anytime someone gets her to speak it is gobbledygook and I think the media intentionally avoids her for this reason.

Then there is Mitch McConnel, who reminds me of the guy in the film "Hannibal" who had his face slashed off by Dr. Lector and seeks revenge because of it.

You may recall that Mitch just "blue screened" in the middle of a press conference not that long ago and had to be supported by staffers to avoid falling over. I never really found out what the hell that was all about.
Lastly there is Nancy Pelosi, arguably the most famous of the group since she is seriously reviled by those on the right.

Now, just to be clear once again, I am not being partisan here because I dislike all of these people basically equally. I feel they are part of a failed system and rather than try to improve it they stick around to keep it the way that it is, which is not working. I'm just curious as to how people out there could keep voting these people into office. Certainly there are other opportunities during the primaries? I can understand that the tribal nature of political affiliation would keep people voting for them instead of an opponent with a different letter next to their name but isn't there a better choice in the primaries?
If there isn't we need to really take the Congressional system for what it is, it is fixed, it is rigged, because why else would any of these people still retain their power? Kay Granger not turning up for work for half a year, not even voting on anything since July of 2024 is pretty disgraceful, no matter what your political affiliation is. I'm not saying there are zero intelligent people in their 80's but these 4, why are they still around?
While I get the point about our gerontocracy, the real power is really in the alaphabet soup orgs. in DC which are as transparent as lead under Xrays
