New Mexico Compound Cultists Charged on 7 Counts

in #politics6 years ago (edited)

As my plans for covering this case have grown in scope, this will be more of a warm up for what's next. I'm currently constructing a heavily sourced timeline, that will look back into years before this cult formed. And I will also be making detailed profiles of most people involved - from the judges to the cultists. As I'm juggling large amounts of data, this will take time, and I probably will take breaks researching other things in between.

This is directly from my notations on the larger project; a simplified summary of a court document that details the charges against each individual. This also gives a short time line, and location of certain events, before the arrests.

The child abuse charges are still "pending".

The document itself can be downloaded HERE.

Charges

Dated March 13, 2019

Criminal No. 18-2945 WJ

United States of America (Plaintiff) vs Jany Leveille, Siraj Ibn Wahhaj, Hujrah Wahhaj, Subhanah Wahhaj, and Lucas Morton (Defendants)

They are being charged on seven counts:

Conspiracy to Provide Material Support to Terrorists; Providing Material Support to Terrorists; Conspiracy to Murder an Officer or Employee of the United States; Conspiracy to Commit an Offense Against the United States; Possessing a Firearm While Unlawfully in the United States; Conspiracy to Commit Kidnapping; Kidnapping.

As per the charges,

  • Siraj and Hujrah Wahhaj "gathered firearms and ammunition", while Leveille, Siraj, Hujrah, Subhanah and Lucas "transported personnel, firearms, and ammunition across state lines".

  • The defendants "constructed and maintained a training compound", and "stored firearms and ammunition on the training compound".

  • Siraj and Lucas, "constructed and maintained a firing range and engaged in firearms and tactical training with other occupants of the training compound".

Section C (Pg 3), mentions other States where the group engaged in "Overt Acts of the Conspiracy":

Georgia:

Dec 2017, Siraj and Hujrah provided firearms to coconspirators.

Dec 2017, Leveille, Siraj, Hujrah, and Subhanah traveled from Georgia to Alabama. The vehicle was owned by Leveille "and others". They were armed.

In or about Dec 2017, in Georgia, Leveille and Lucas solicited a relative of Siraj, to "join the occupants of the training compound in the State of New Mexico, to bring money and firearms, and to die as a martyr".

Alabama:

Dec 2017, Leveille, Siraj, Hujrah, Subhanah, and now Lucas, travel from Alabama to New Mexico. Vehicle is owned by Lucas. They were armed.

New Mexico:

Dec 2017 - Aug 2018, Subhanah "provided financial support to her coconspirators". They also "built and maintained a training compound comprised of materials such as a wooden frame, a trailer, plastic tarps, and tire walls and barriers". Ammunition and fire arms where also stored inside the "training compound".

Dec 2017 - Aug 2018, Siraj and Lucas, built a firing range, and "dug an underground tunnel leading away from the training compound" (does not mention to were).

Dec 2017 - Aug 2018, Each is named individually in firing a firearm, inside the compounds shooting rage.

Dec 2017 - Aug 2018, Siraj, and Lucas, "trained persons, including other members of the training compound, in using firearms and performing tactical maneuvers". (This makes me wonder who the "persons" were)

Dec 2017 - Aug 2018, Leveille and Siraj, "instructed persons, including other occupants of the training compound, to be prepared to engage in jihad, to die as martyrs, and to engage in violent acts, including killing Federal Bureau of Investigation employees, government officials, and military personnel".

Page 7 mentions that the Defendants "and others known and unknown to the Grand Jury, knowingly did conspire, combine, confederate, agree, and act interdependently with each other to commit an offense against the United States, to wit, to knowingly provide Jany Leveille, an alien who was illegally and unlawfully in the United States, possession of firearms".

Page 8-9 name the charges against the defendants in conspiring to "unlawfully seize, confine, inveigle, decoy, kidnap, abduct, carry away, and hold JOHN DOE, a child who had not attained the age of eighteen (18) years, to conceal and hold him and in committing or in furtherance of the commission of the offense, did willfully transport JOHN DOE in interstate commerce from the State of Georgia to the State of New Mexico, and did conceal and hold JOHN DOE, resulting in his death". Abdul-Ghani Wahhaj is "John Doe", by the way. A fact that has been reported by the MSM multiple times before.
