Trump Did It Again | 4D Chess Or Luck?
He can't really be that smart can he? Trump has been taking flak on all sides for the terrible 2 thousand page omnibus spending bill that was just passed with not enough time to even read the bill before voting. One such criticism is how small of an amount he was able to get for building the border wall he promised during his campaign, $1.6 Billion, a fraction of what it would cost to fund the whole wall. He also received criticism for the engorged $700 Billion going to rebuild the military. Conservatives further criticized how vocal he was on the fact that DACA was absent from this bill. This is something his voter base doesn't want and they were confused as to why he would claim to want it in this bill.
All Is Revealed
It turns out, he may have known what he was doing. There are three major things to point out in the passing of this omnibus bill. He just revealed on twitter that the $700 Billion to the military, he fully intends on using to fund building the border wall with the military. So he essentially snuck enough of a budget to potentially fund the entire border wall, right under the dems (and many republicans) noses.
He has spoken out about omnibus bill like these, seemingly because of how easy they are to sneak large funds to causes that would not have passed otherwise and after signing this one stated, "I will never sign another bill like this again".
So the question is: Was this to teach the house and senate a lesson?
As the phrase goes, "Once Bitten, Twice Shy".
Lastly
DACA. I'm convinced his claim to be disappointed in the lack of DACA in this bill is a ruse. He's already spun this via tweet that the "Democrats abandoned you (but we will not)!".
What a rollercoaster in this one bill. He funded the building of the wall, taught the House and Senate a lesson about passing omnibus bills and spun the story of democrats caring for the dreamers on it's head, potentially improving his position with that voter base.
Is he playing 4d chess or just that lucky?
