Democrats Playing A Clever, Dirty Game

in #politics6 years ago (edited)

Corporate-backed candidates from the Democratic establishment, Kamala Harris and Cory Booker (as well as Elizabeth Warren), are using a very, very clever strategy to undermine their opponents.

For a very long time (longer than anyone can remember), Republican's have been harping on about abortion in their election campaigns. They pretend to be anti-abortion and have no intention whatsoever of doing anything relating to policy on the matter.

How do I know they're just pretending?

Until January 2019, the Republicans controlled both houses of Congress and the White House, yet abortion hasn't been abolished in the United States. So, why do they do it?

Because they're geniuses! They draw attention towards an area of policy that no politician, Republican or Democrat, is going to try to bring about, while drawing attention away from policy areas where they're weak and their opponents are strong.

The Democrats Have Learned

Candidates for the 2020 Democratic Party presidential primaries have a new strategy that has come out of nowhere, like a wet fart in a church. They're promoting a policy which some Democratic voters would strongly support and others wouldn't really oppose. A policy which no politician, Republican or Democrat, is going to try to bring about. A policy which distracts from the many areas where Clintonesque candidates (and Elizabeth Warren) are weak and non-establishment  candidates are strong. They're pretending to support reparations for slavery in America.

Should There Be Reparations?

Cory Booker doesn't think so. He uses the word 'reparations' when he talks, but when you look at his policy proposal, it isn't reparations. I won't go into his baby-bond proposal here, but when you look at the economics, it would actually accelerate inequality growth because when every 18 year old in the country gets thousands of dollars from the government, the price of things that 18 year old buy will go up, such as tuition fees, so money goes from the hands of the many into the hands of the few.</p>

How about Kamala Harris (and Elizabeth Warren)? Well, there's been some lip service, but no actual policy proposal. It's similar to how Republicans promise tax cuts for the middle class and deliver nothing to the voters who thought they'd get something in return for their support.

Conclusion

By the time the presidential election comes around, I don't see Democrats giving it getting anything more than lip service, at best. It's a disposable topic for them. Turning reparations into a political weapon is the Democrat's equivalent of the abortion issue.
