The problem with your "common sense" regulations is that many of them have been tried, but they have failed to produce any of the results that you desire. Look at the FBI crime stats. Gun ownership...including ownership of the big, scary guns you have, has no impact on crime at best. At "worst," it causes reductions in crime.

You don't need to take a training class to exercise natural rights. Why should the police judging a person's right to own a gun? No one should have this right, but if he does, he should be a judge. If my liberties are going to be denied, I'd prefer due process.
