Why are Americans so behind entertainers for politics?

Am I the only person who sees this as completely ridiculous? People with no political background whatsoever and there’s Americans that would prefer them over politicians? Now, clearly, the political world hasn’t done itself any favors. They’ve been seen as goons & crooks for years with their interest in mind over the people they represent, but I don’t think rich celebrities are the answer either....
