The Days of the #SchumerShutdown
There was a deal in place, but democrats decided to hold that deal hostage over throwing in amnesty for illegal aliens. Once again, the democrats have shown that their real alliance is to foreign criminals and those who profit off of them (using taxpayer funds) rather than to the American people whom they are supposed to represent. #SchumerShutdown
Not withstanding the fact that the entire "DACA" program was illegal to begin with. since a president does not have the power to change existing laws as obama did, it is extremely poor policy to carve out exemptions from our laws for special groups of people.
As a nation that is based on the rule of law and the principals of fairness and equal treatment under the law, once laws are only selectively applied or enforced, there is no longer the rule of law - only tyranny where some are punished, while others go free for the same crime based on the whim of a person holding a pen and a phone,. This is also completely unconstitutional because it effectively writes the other two branches of government out of the equation.
As for the so-called "Dreamers" (aka illegal aliens), there is quite a bit of misinformation being used as a selling point to give them amnesty so they can vote for democrats. Here are some interesting tidbits:
Most "dreamers" are not children. Most are adults in their mid to late twenties. Most were not even brought here are young children, but as teenagers, and many of them came voluntarily or even on their own. Contrary to the democrat argument against repatriating them that they would be a stranger in their own country if sent home, most are fluent in the language of their home country and would have no problem being reintegrated there. In fact, our country is probably a larger adjustment for them than returning home in terms of language and culture.
Most "dreamers" have not served in the military. In fact, only about one tenth of ONE percent (around 900) have served in the military.
There are not 800,000 "dreamers", but about 3.7 MILLION of them. Giving them amnesty would allow tens of millions of other illegal alien family members to also be given the ability to stay in our country. This includes their illegal alien relatives who brought them here illegally in the first place.
There seems to be some attempt to paint these "Dreamers" as brilliant nuclear physicists; however facts do not support this assessment. Over 2,000 have had their status revoked due to being convicted of serious criminal behavior including drug and human trafficking. This number does not include the large number of pending cases.
Many also use/abuse the welfare system and the ones that work are in direct competition with blue collar American workers for jobs. This is especially harmful to those Americans who are at the lower end of the income scale and trying to climb out of poverty by stepping up to jobs that are above minimum wage.
Although the primary concern being espoused by the democrats and their campaign donors, who make massive profits providing goods and services to illegal aliens, is the "Welfare of the poor little DACA "dreamers", it is important to remember that American taxpayers and their children have a right to dream to. American taxpayers have been supporting these foreigners who have been living here illegally for a long time to the determinant of their own dreams.
It is time to ask not what is best for foreign illegal aliens, but what is best for Americans. And what is best is most certainly NOT continuing to allow and even reward the violation of our laws.
The trouble here is that this is all propaganda. Propaganda about propaganda.
In order to get a handle on things, we need to get to the real story.
Demographics.
In order for their system to work, the need a growing population to become growing consumers to take on ever more debt. So, without the immigrants, the banking system implodes.
Further, there exists a real minimum wage. It is set by market forces. In order to have a govern-cement set minimum wage above that real line, you have to have a group of people that will work below it. In The US this has typically been migrant mexican labor.
And last, but not least, we are tax cattle. Each and every one of us that had a mother that filled out a birth certificate, and then abandoned it (you) are now a corporate bond. This is sold on the stock market. For somewhere around $100,000 per person, I believe.
So, every "dreamer" you get to fill out that bond issuing paperwork nets you $100,000. How many dreamers would you want to get their signature?
I completely agree. Our elected "representatives" on both sides of the aisle have sold us out to line their own pockets with the money of corporations and banks. None of them care for these people from the third world that they constantly try to saddle us with. Not do they care about us either.
As you said, we're viewed merely as living piggy banks that exist for them to extract money out of at their whim.
At the same time, although I realized that all of us (including the illegal underclass) are being used, they are still here illegally and they lower the quality of life that those in this country hold dear. They must go home and we must secure the border and enforce our laws. We cannot simply give up.
