I'm disappointed...
As a mother, I'm disappointed we elected someone who believes climate change is a hoax and is against green sources of energy
As a woman, I'm disappointed we elected a misogynist who obviously has little to no appreciation for women besides how they look and has admitted to multiple instances of sexually assaulting women
As a lesbian, I'm disappointed we elected someone who has pledged to sign the First Amendment Defense Act allowing others to discriminate against myself and my family
As someone born to a father who was born in Iran, I'm disappointed we elected someone who would have banned my father from entering this country (and therefore erased my entire existence)
As a union member, I'm disappointed we elected someone who said he wants to "tear down the union walls"
As a student whose first degree was in Economics, I'm disappointed we elected someone whose tax plan is not only fiscally irresponsible but fiscally impossible
As a wife, I'm disappointed we elected someone who would "strongly consider" trying to appoint SCOTUS judges to overturn marriage equality
As someone who was raised to not judge others by the "color of their skin, but by the content of their character", I'm disappointed we elected someone who has called blacks "lazy" after getting sued twice by the Justice Department for discriminating against them
I am just disappointed
I'm disappointed that so many of my fellow Americans could vote for someone so bigoted...someone that could help change the laws to dissolve my (finally) legal, and very happy family.
I'm also disappointed today in how so many individuals have spewed the intolerance and hate they seemed to dislike so much up until last night.
I may not like your vote and I definitely do not like the result. However, I realize that votes for Trump were not direct votes against my family and I which some seem to forget. People voted for what they thought was best. That's why this country never stopped being great...we can all express our views and opinions and when delivered in the form of a vote they actually do matter.
But, I'm still disappointed...
