Toys R Us blames millennials for it's bankruptcy, they claim millennials are not having kids

in #politics6 years ago

Toys R Us will close or sell each of its more than 700 locations in the US. In the company's most recent annual filing, it cities declining birth rates as a threat to sales. Births have decreased rapidly since 2008 in the US, especially among millennial women. Toys R Us was one of the last national toy chains, and other similar retailers could be in trouble. Millennials are defined as those born between 1981 and 1996. They're more college-educated and marry later than previous generations.

My thoughts on this news

Haha, this is funny, millennials are always getting blamed for something, now it looks like they are not having enough kids so poor ToysRus can't sell enough toys. Do you know why millennials are not having as many kids as the previous generations...? It is really simple, it is because they are broke! They cannot afford to have kids, they are better educated and understand that if they have kids they will struggle financially. Millennials on average already earn less money than their parents and grandparents. During the babyboomer generation a father working 1 job made enough money to buy a house, a car, pay all the bills while his wife stayed at home and took care of the kids. Today when both a father and mother are working and have kids they are barely making enough money to pay their bills. That is why millennials are having less kids. ToysRus should be blaming all the American corporations that left the country and moved to China to hire people for slave wages and left the millennials generation of Americans to fight over jobs that barely pay a living wage...

And also Amazon of course cornering the market, or toys in Wal Mart ... the top management of Toys R Us probably knows all that and undrstands the bigger picture of demographics but they had to say something for some reporter or to hide their stupidity to the stakeholders .. Amazon is the elephant in the room and it needs to be shot and quartered. Amazon needs to be regulated but no one has the guts to take them down, mostly because the GOP politicians are spineless assholes hell bent on destroying the social fabric and have no understanding of Silicon Valley ...
