I never really understood american conservatism and liberalism. The German counterparts are quite different.
I think all this we need to find a middle ground between two contrary positions is often the wrong way to apporach a topic.
Many different political camps see the same problems, they just sometimes differ in their solution. radical left and right both hate the banks and the establishment.
Right on. I envy most major European countries on a representative front for that reason. Here in the US, 2 parties have taken a "death grip" of sorts on US democracy, and it's getting out of hand. =(
Don't worry mate, it does not matter if you have 2 or 5 parties. They will all get corrupted eventually. The idea of politics being a compromise between several opposing camps, is the root of all evil. If we can get rid of parties and replace them with individuals that are not bound by those "voting pacts", parlamentarism might succeed.
