World record!

In the World Bank, it always publishes its forecasts about what the behavior of the world, regional and national economies will be, during each year. Economic science has not yet perfected its techniques or its theories to be able to make accurate predictions about what the economic situation of a country will be in the near or distant future. Always those reflections are surrounded by a high degree of uncertainty and risk, because human behavior is not yet entirely predictable. But even so, visions about the future reveal what is most likely to happen from the present situation. In the statistics published by the World Bank Venezuela figures with a decrease of more than 12% in its GDP in 2017, in relation to the level reached during the year 2016. The bad thing about this whole matter is that in 2016 there was already a drop of 12.2% in relation to the level that the GDP had presented in 2015. And in 2015, the GDP was 8.2% lower than the one that characterized the year 2014. And in order not to make the story too long, it should be remembered that in In 2014, the GDP decreased by 3.9% compared to 2013.

In short, the level of GDP during the year 2017 ended up being 28.4% lower than the GDP of 2013. In other words, if the lowest production and the lowest income were evenly distributed among the entire population, that would mean, each Venezuelan would be approximately 40% poorer than in 2013.
This is a gigantic work of destruction of a country. There is not, today, another country on the face of the planet that can exhibit such an immense process of destruction and regression. Even the oil countries - of this continent or of others - have made financial and productive investments that allow them to cope with the current crisis. None has suffered the hardships of Venezuela, neither in Latin America, nor in the Middle East. The only oil country that has regressed systematically for four years is Venezuela.

It is not about the fall in the price of oil. It is not a divine curse or a punishment from the gods. It is not a war. It is not an invasion. It is not a natural catastrophe. It is about bad economic policies. It is about corruption. It is a supine inefficiency. It is an inability to make decisions on the part of government teams. It is about the balance and the inertia between the different groups that are distributed today in the state apparatus. It is about the lack of democracy as a generator of economic backwardness. All this is what leads us to beat all the world records in terms of bad economic results.
