I'm anti-Trump and I want a wall. Here's why.

I tick off all the typical boxes of something that your stereotypical Trump supporting Fox viewer would love to hate. Liberal, international, open immigration, Bernie Sanders, etc. etc. Add to that, I grew up on the border (can see Mexico from my backyard). Until recently, I felt pretty strongly against the idea of the wall. I don't think it will actually work. I don't think that the Republicans and conservatives are being a bunch of whiners about getting the wall built. I don't like that it represents an America that wants to turn its back to our neighbor. However, as the political infighting in America continues, I have come full circle on a wall on our Southern border.
If some members of Congress and society want the wall, ok, you can get your wall. What's the big harm in building a wall? If anything it's going to be an economic stimulus, in terms of job creation. And it might even offer to help protect people in terms of human trafficking. After all, it is a border, there's no reason people should be able to just walk willy nilly across a border.

If Republicans don't get they wall, they're going to keep on whining about it forever. Look at how they've just gone on and on with Obamacare, and that's people complaining that they have access to healthcare! (If you really don't stuff, you could stop using Education and stop driving on the roads too.) Republicans are a whiny persistent lot when they don't get their way, and if they don't get the wall, they're going to keep on complaining about it, and keep on saying no wall is the reason immigration is broken.

So I say let's give them the wall! But it's going to cost you. This is politics, the art of the deal baby. I want immigration reform, single payer healthcare, free university education, a green New Deal, strong gun safety, serious prison reform, reign in the military budget, and constitutionally protect women's reproductive rights, and lets bring the drinking age down to 18 while we're at it.

So you pick your medicine, and then you can either show just how badly you want the wall, or if you're not willing to make any compromises, then don't complain because the Democrats offered you want you wanted, and you couldn't figure out how to make it happen.

So to all the Democrats, let's rethink our resistance to the wall. After all, it would create jobs, and there's no reason people should be able to just walk across the border, and then let's get some healthy political compromises and start making things actually happen in America.
