The Polkadot Ambassador program has 1000+ people in 65+ countries contributing in a wide variety of non-technical and developer capacities. There are a lot of people looking forward to meeting you in the chats, working groups, Meetups, and other events in the very near future, so let's get to how you can plug in!

Your first step on your way to becoming a Polkadot Ambassador is to join us as a Candidate. As a Candidate, you will have access to our Candidates channel on the Polkadot Discord, and you'll have access to all the Working Group channels to start getting involved in any way that suits your skills and goals.

Here are your next steps:

  1. Onboarding Video: Watch the 10-minute Candidate Onboarding video from Hutch at the Web3 Foundation with some important background information for you. Here are the slides that were covered in the video.
  2. Contact your Regional Head Ambassador: Review the Polkadot Ambassador Hub to find the contact information for your Regional Head Ambassador - Please reach out to them and introduce yourself! If you don't speak English, your Regional Ambassador can speak with you in your local language.
  3. Join the Discord: Use this link to join the Polkadot Discord - it will automatically add you to the Candidate role. If you have any issues, please add Hutch as a friend on Discord (hutch#6533) so that he can update your Role to Candidate.
  4. Introduce Yourself: Introduce yourself in the #candidates Discord channel saying your name, where you live, and how you can help contribute.
  5. Join the Trello Board: Project coordination across Working Groups takes place on Trello. Join the Ambassador Trello Boards here. You will find invites to each Working Group's Trello board within the description of that working group's channel on Discord.
  6. Add the Ambassadors Working Groups Calendar: There are monthly calls for each of our Working Groups. Subscribe or add this public calendar to your own calendar in order to plug into the call(s) you'd like to join.
  7. Get Involved: Participate in the chats, join the Working Group calls, start meeting people and finding where you'd like to get involved. Check out this blog post on 6 ways you can get involved in the Polkadot and Kusama ecosystem.
