How many would be in support of allowing embedded videos (from verified content creators) to be hosted via pornhub, other?
This approach could be used to rapidly get videos going again.
It would be a zero cost solution from a hosting perspective being only a coding change, and not requiring expensive video hosting, IPFS nodes, etc.
Ideally a 'widget' via an add on script that would auto generate the markdown needed for a well formed video embed and could be updated as needed without needing to redeploy the entire site.
If the data is snarfed via the server backend to get around CORS issues - could probably be used to grab snapshot image url.
In the future could possibly auto populate title field as well and maybe description, and possibly suggested tag guessing depending on site the video is hosted with.
A CORS proxy could be setup then used by the script so that video urls could actually be parse out by client browser. (using whitelisted only sites/url patterns for the proxying CORS gateway with rate limiting to prevent potential abuse).

Love the concept. This sounds like a separate service we could offer would this be correct? Def. would be interested in what you had in mind.
The post helper, for content creators, could be implemented as an add-on javascript that would inject the necessary HTML, etc, to provide the capability for said content creator to input an URL, say from pornhub. The script would then query the CORS proxy to get the HTML from the input URL, do a best effort HTML parse, and then populate the submit post form with suggested markdown to embed a clickable snapshot image that opens the URL. (And hopefully be able to fill in other information, depending on what is in the HTML received from the URL).
The UI front-end should already allow embedded videos, via a hard-coded white list, that would need updating to convert these posts into the appropriate embed video frame (where feasible) that will allow click to play on the dporn.co site.
I like where you are going with this. We can pass this on to the proper folks to look at. I'm assuming this can still all be part of the "tube" we will be bringing to the community?
Would give you tube steak now w/o restricting your options for other tube steaks later.

I am 100% supporting you @muksihs ! This is a need if you want this platform to thrive. The user experience is not great at the moment to be honest and we could do much better.
Also at some point when there will be more content creators and users, we will need to make some "porntags" as some people might prefer to see some stuff and may not want to other stuff, hardcore /lesbians/ gay porn / bondage, etc...
Keep this platform growing @dporn and you will thrive :D

We haven't even started in on our UI changes so there will def. be changes and features added to it over the next few weeks. Onboarding is taking priority right now ( no content means no users ) so we'll def. having more on the site. Thanks for the feedback!
