Portrait Contest Week 7 - Music: Technocafé DJ's

in #portraitcontest7 years ago (edited)

This is an image of two friends of mine djing an underground techno party called Technocafé. I added a second image for a little bit of perspective on the overall scene.
Both images were taken on a Bronica ETRsi medium format camera using Portra 160 NC film, expired since 2009. The lens in use is a 75mm Zenzanon EII f/2.8.
The images were scanned from negatives using a digital camera, with synchronised flash as a backlight and then converted to positive in Adobe Lightroom.

Will be posting some DJ stories soon myself @gentbynature

Not taking away anything from your photography, the DJs without disco lights, laser lights and smokes look like a couple of guys distributing pamphlets for a protest march.

I've got to quote them that. :-D
I think they considered themselves quite cool at that moment. This is taken during their first underground open air (weird way of putting things) when things were still quite small. I totally get your point, without the typical vibe associated with a party they look rather mundane.

Hope you don't mind though. Was just having a little fun.

It's all good. I'm always interested in hearing how people see the pictures I take. Everyone puts their own imagination into a picture. As Ansel Adams so wisely said: There are always two people in a picture, the photographer and the viewer. ;-)

Oh cool. Would love to see more photos from you.
