Portrait Contest Week 4 (Entry #2): I'm Looking Through YousteemCreated with Sketch.

in #portraitcontest7 years ago (edited)

I took this shot through the glass pane of one of those games where you try to grab an item with a claw.

Arcade Kiera.jpg

I did a photoshoot with my friend Kiera at an arcade recently and I must say it really adds more color into the image than I could ever hope to achieve through most other locations.

I feel like this image disorients the viewer at first (in a good way) and makes them ask where they are in relation to the model. The balls obviously indicate that there is something between the two but it's only when you see the reflection of the balls that you understand the picture is taken through a glass panel.

Good choice, the environment or background can really ad to a portrait shot. It attracted me enough from the thumbnail to open your post! Recently I had just been thinking the same, to invite someone to a colorful location to do a portrait. Hadn't noted this contest until today either.

That's good to hear! Yeah colorful locations are great if you're able to find them, I also like the bokeh that the lights provide.

Very interesting
