why people fear one thing

A person commits suicide because he was picked on. The person fears the gun
A child was killed by the people who cared for him. The person fears the gun.
A father leaves behind his wife and child after never comming home for work.
The person fears the gun
Explosions rain from the sky. The childern have no one to look after them. The person fears the gun.
I ask myself.... why do people fear just one thing.
