Prepper Fire Starting Series - #4 Bow-Drill Basics

in #prepper7 years ago (edited)

Hello Folks,

Here is the fourth of a short series of videos to supersede the collection I uploaded to YouTube last year (2017).

In this demonstration, I attempt to go really 'old skool' with a bow-drill set up. I am cheating somewhat with a home-made PVC 'take-down' bow plus my hearth board and drill are not directly sourced from the woods. On top of that, I also use cotton wool as my tinder medium. All that aside, this video shows how I put all the different components together to create fire. My technique is heavily based on the Mike McQuilton MCQ Bushcraft style.

I hope you find the footage educational as well as entertaining.

Bye for now,

EggMeister

Wow you managed to do it :) now you are the true firestarter!

Much appreciated, I'm the urban pyromaniac ;)

I'm sorry for temporary minisule upvote. I'm trying to get my voting out of the doldrums lol.
Cheers,
Rob.

That looked hard to pull off for sure! Congrats buddy

Thank you. I've only practiced a few times. Prep and technique are very important as well as the material used. It's not as hard as it looks,....... honest.

Rob.

I hope you had a good night buddy :) been waiting for my account to get back to 100% :)
Had a chilled weekend here, nothing special.

Yup, a good night ta :)
Now I've got account back up to 100%, I've taken geordieprepper's advice and opened a steemvoter account. It takes the effort out of upvoting your favourite followers and allows you to concentrate more on comments and resteems. Might be worth you looking into it as you've got a decent amount of steem power.

If you want some more details just let me know :)

I am very happy to see, I always wait for your post
it would be wonderful if there are some photos in this post

Sorry, no photos in this post. Just the video link thumbnail.
Did you enjoy the video? :)

Many thanks,
Egg.

I enjoyed Thanks :)
