Launching “Decentralize This!” — Episode 1: Joey Krug

Enigma’s new podcast “Decentralize This!” features guests from all over the decentralization space: developers, investors, entrepreneurs, researchers, writers, artists, people in government and enterprise — all individuals who care deeply about building a more decentralized and sustainable world. How can all these people with different perspectives collaborate to create and scale the technologies we need to shape a better future?

Hello to the community! At Enigma, we feel we have a responsibility to educate people around the world on the value of decentralized technologies, the better future we can build, and the challenges facing us and our partners.

Today we’re excited to announce our newest educational initiative: “Decentralize This!”, a podcast hosted by Enigma’s Head of Growth Tor Bair and featuring guests from around the blockchain and decentralization space.

 By taking a closer look at what prominent people are building and thinking about, we hope to find new ways to work together on creating solutions and getting these new technologies adopted at scale.

The big question we’ll ask is: what will it really take to build a decentralized future? What issues are we facing, what types of solutions do we need, and how can developers, entrepreneurs, students, artists, and the average person contribute and collaborate to get us there faster?

Decentralize This! is high-energy, conversational, and optimistic — but also realistic about the path forward. We want the show to be educational and entertaining, accessible and insightful. Episodes are usually about 45 minutes to an hour long, perfect for a commute or playing in the background. We’ll post each new episode on Enigma’s YouTube channel as well as in a standalone blog post like this one. And although Enigma is focused on solving privacy and scalability, that won’t usually be the topic on this podcast. The focus is on our guests and the solutions they’re working towards.

Our very first episode features Joey Krug. Joey is the co-chief investment officer at Pantera, a blockchain-focused investment firm and hedge fund, as well as the co-founder of Augur, which is a decentralized prediction market. We talk about biotech and self-driving cars, how liquidity and democratizing adoption will drive Augur’s success, why blockchain investors might need to adjust their time horizons, and we get Joey to put odds on a prediction for our decentralized future — when it might happen, and how it might look.Please listen using the link above and share with your friends, whether they’re in the decentralization space or not!
