Status Update [LuaComputers]

in #programming7 years ago

This is just a small update on what's going on with the project so I'm not going to bother with good-looking formatting

The Actual News

So the vote on the Amino showed a clear result with it being that the project should have small pixels without built-in text-drawing.
While it may seem shit that you have to basically "make" drawing text by yourself, it gives you way more pixels that you can use to make things with higher detail. (Although we still want it to have less pixels than RL monitors, right?)

I plan to make the resolution editable so you have more freedom regarding that.

We still have a problem though

The networking socket that I've implemented don't seem to actually work..

Somehow the sending socket just fails to send your desired message and I don't know why. I tried to switch to using the higher-level "sf::Packet" class to send messages but the send-method still returns an error status.

At least the receiving socket works, I think..

This means that I will not fix or add anything else until I find a solution for this, the worst case being that I either switch back to Java (although I really don't want to, I already accustomed myself to SFML and really like the use of Vertex-Arrays, which I couldn't find in libGDX or LWJGL as simple as it is in SFML) or ditching (socket) networking altogether. (But I really want to have that lol)
