When most people are asked how they came in contact with steem(it),they usually say adverts and steem promotion.
Undeniably, Nigeria has been at the forefront of steem promotional activities with the Steemit in Nigeria event being the spark which fanned the flames of success.
Taking a look at the recent Alexxa rankings, it becomes obvious that steemit as a website is growing and by extension, steem is also growing too.

Nigerians, ever resilient and determined set of people, have joined in a major move to catapult the blockchain from where it was to a journey to where it should be. We cannot deny that numerous efforts are being made to make the cryptocurrency better than it’s contemporaries, even better than bitcoin, but it now ever so obvious, that the blockchain has a major hole which must be filled and that is “building bigger communities.”

Recent rankings have shown that the number of internet users in Nigeria in the last seven months has shown a surge in the upward trend, indicating that more and more people are opting to become more internet savvy. Not only that, it is becoming increasingly evident that more people are recognizing the presence of employment and source of income on the internet. If Google can recognize internet and IT growth in Nigeria in the last seven months, it would be advisable for the authorities to also see the viability of a strong Nigerian presence on the blockchain. What started in 2017 as a meetup, has now become a full blown initiative which has always been the vision.

SIN2 is only going to be bigger and better, fear not

As successful as SIN1 was, it was only the beginning; the plan was for it to only get better with time just like fine wine. The expectations are higher, the preparations are better and the execution is going to be top notch.

We want to get the best aerial coverage so multimedia drones will be deployed, meaning we get to see everywhere. SIN1 was a three day programme, with two days out of it for being used for arrival and departure respectively and one day for the conference and after party.
With SIN2, it is going to be a 6-day event with two days for arrival and departure respectively, the Abuja tour to amazing places like the Aso rock, Millennium Park, Jabi lake, Zuma rock and so many awesome places, this leaves you salivating for more.

We have not forgotten we promised a fully functional website this year to ease the stress of registration and payment. I know so many people are wondering about the cost, SIN2 has reduced the stress for you. All hotels will be at an amazing and jaw dropping discount price and everyone not staying in Abuja has to register for accommodation on the site to ease the stress.

It even gets better; the usual custom of movie night has not been forgotten as we will get to experience the movie night this year. Don’t worry about re-introducing yourself to the steemians you’ll meet every time your ID cards at the event will help you do that (feel free to network however).
We have every time in mind as this year; SIN2 will be featuring a hackathon event which changes the face of the whole event and the best part? The hackathon has a whole day dedicated to it. We want you to look beautiful, so this year we’ll be making other colors available to you other than the conventional black and white and the designs will leave you with open mouths.

Still not satisfied? The conference will feature a host of individuals who will talk on several things ranging from general crypto trading tips, business tips, steemit tips and so much more. We value our ladies on the platform and as such we have opened up slots for two amazing female speakers (@gee1 and @ogoowinner) to come and show the world that steemit in Nigeria is for everyone.

Let’s turn this up a notch shall we? The gala night/after party will also be hot as we will be bringing down the best of the best for them to showcase their talents. With @mediahousent returning for the second edition as well as Violeta Ejiata cohosting this wonderful event right alongside him. This year, the steemcamp crew will be doing their awards night at the Steemit in Nigeria2 event in Abuja.
