How to manage anger
There are a few questions you need to ask youself whenever you get angry.
- Was i the one in wrong
- Can the anger help in calming down the situation.
- Has the person said sorry.
- Have i ever angered somone and i needed forgiveness.
- If i compare the actions and consquences of anger to thoses of no anger, which one's weigh more.
Once you ypu answer these, then you can react with a little more conciousness.
was i the one in wrong
Many of us forget to think through the situation and what led to the misunderstanding. We are many times blinded by the way we feel at that moment. And the other challenge is with the people who do not think they can be in wrong.
** can the anger help in calming down the situation**
One man once said however hot your anger is, it cant cook. Many look at this from a plain perspective but i dig deeper into it.
At many times anger makes the situation even worse, once you realise that getting angry would lead to unconcious decisions then do not give it a chance to control you.
has the person said sorry
Some of us do not want to listen to apologies when we get angered. But i would imagine a case where even God dint send his son to die for us and give us a second chance, we would all be finished. Imagining a world where there was no forgiveness hahha we would all be finished because people would be revenging on each other daily. So i think if someone angers you and sincerely apologises then you ought to forgive and harmonise.
have i ever angered someone and needed forgiveness
This is a back shot directed to you. No one can escape saying yes to it (in uganda we call it own goal), because in one way or the other we wrong each other and seek to be forgiven. This teaches us not to be self centered,
If someone has ever done you a favor of forgiveness then what makes you so special not to return the favor to another person.
This life that people fight for is just given to us freely and wr havr to help each other get the best of it but let this not blind us and start acting arrogantly. I have lost the likes of Mowzey radio, and now i come to realise that if anger can cost us lives of our loved ones then we need to check our selves and live in a better world. To all my fellow steemians lets promote forgiveness and love.
thank you for the lecture @mozela i think its true we need to work on how we mange our anger for a better living.
