Steemit lacks quality content - Here is a way to fix it - Invite your favorite content creators to the community
This is my third day on steemit. While I see a lot of hype and about the monetary value of steem power and the amazing growth that has been happening in the last week, there are only a few articles that I would say are engaging (to me anyway).
I have never been to big on reading blog posts, but instead prefer vlogs or even better the medium of the video-essay. So in order to get the quality content that I want here I decided to invite my favorite ones here, and let them know about steemit. They have so much to gain and nothing to loose.
For steemit contiuned success it needs to retain users and quality content is a way of achieving that.
Some of these channels have quite large audiences and it will be difficult to get through to them, but if there is enough of us doing it here they will surely hear the message.
Art
These channels below are excellent not just for film, but for any art form. They explain some of the nuances and skill in films, games and even music. The detail and level of craftsmanship that we often as the audience take for granted. As a film making hobbyist, I found I learn a lot from watching these channels, and often it absorbs subconsciously into my work, often though they are fascinating to watch I always look forward to new posts by them.

Science
I have qualifications as an Electrical Engineer and am currently undertaking a Masters in Micro and Nanotechnology. Usually when I am trying to comprehend difficult concepts at uni, I go to youtube and look for hopefully a nice video explaining the concept. I came across these because they are not only fascinating, but I find they give me an deeper appreciation to things in a wide variety of areas.

General
These are great just nice short videos that give an excellent explanation to a wide variety of topics. I have always been a visual learner, and these easily summarize books that would have taken me weeks to read.

Kurzgesagt – In a Nutshell
Current Affairs
These usually come every day and they just great in keeping me up to date with hot topics around the world, and usually give balanced views to the more controversial topics. Usually the comments sections (if posted on reddit - or possibly in the future steemit) allows for any misconceptions or keypoints to be validated by the community.

Lifestyle
So I am subscribed to the community of vandwellers, and I have for a while love the concept of tiny homes and minimalist lifestyles. I also wanted to be an architect when I was younger, and this channel combines all my interests and showcases some unique homes.
Exploring Alternatives
This list is only half my full exhaustive. I will be posting to all of these ones as well. I have a lot more which I will be posting to.
I am sure there some steemit users who follow amazing content on the web.
Good idea, I'm all for it!
Do you have any of your content creators that you recommend?
As members of this community it is up to us to be proactive and to market Steemit in the traditional social media communities that we have belonged to for years. A migration of a just a few active quality communities to this platform could infuse Steemit with some great content and action. I may compose a general "welcome letter" that can be used by anyone to encourage migration to Steemit. Good post on your part. That is a great idea. I wasn't sure how to appraoch them. I was going to use my Google+ profile to send them a messages to them all, but need it to stand out and quickly list why the should start posting steemit as well their normal traditional channels.
I am working on the concept still. My first target will be Medium writers who could easily transition to Steemit (and get paid!). I also submitted Steemit to this site.
