Dead by Daylight Tips
Dead by Daylight is a game that puts the player into a horror movie situation where survivors must escape mutilation by a serial killer. Players have the option to play as a survivor or serial killer; with the goal being to escape by starting the generators that open the exit door, or murder all the survivors.
For game play tips I can only speak to playing as a survivor. I intend to work on playing as the killer once I achieve a high level survivor status. If anyone has any input on the killer aspect please post below, would love any tips.
Once you get past learning the levels, the real challenge begins. The entire survivor game play is built around teamwork. Players need to work together to start generators and keep each other alive. While generators can be started without assistance, it can take a lot of time that you do not have since the killer is faster and alerted to the generator activity. As for the healing one another, the killer only has to hit you once to slow you down and twice to bring you to a crawl. After that it is the hook which is basically a death sentence unless you are rescued. Thus making your teammate your true HP source.
Quick tips for the game:
- Try to work in teams as much as possible.
- When injured stick to the outside of the level and look for someone to heal you.
- Toolbox, to speed up generator starts, can be found in the basement of main buildings in the level.
- Crouch and walk slowly to avoid detection, line of sight is key in this game.
- Always heal your teammate, but make sure you both move to the outer parts of the level.
- If you are injured follow the person who is not to the outer part of the level.
- Twist and turn when running from the killer, they have less ability to pivot.
- STAY AWAY FROM CROWS, they make noise that alerts the killer. Consider your goose cooked if the start yapping.
I hope to put together a strategy in the coming weeks as my game play progresses. Thanks for reading and please add any suggestions.
