If you drink your coffee like this, you may be ... psycho!

in #psychology7 years ago

Do you like to drink your coffee plain? Even a grain of sugar spoils your taste? If you like to drink your coffee plain (without sugar and without milk) then that may mean something you did not imagine.

At least according to a new study, which finds that people who prefer their own coffee are more likely to have psychopathic characteristics in their personality!

Researchers from the University of Innsbruck in Austria studied 953 adult Americans, with an average age of 35 years. The participants responded to a questionnaire about what foods they liked most, and then completed several other personality questionnaires that recorded attributes such as narcissism, aggression, psychopathy, and the tendency to daily sadism or masochism.

Scientists have found that people who generally liked bitter tastes in food and drink (beer, coffee, radish, celery, etc) had more "malicious personality traits" and scored the highest rating in "sadism" and "psychopathy" behaviors.

The researchers also concluded that taste in bitter tastes was a much stronger criterion for a person's personality than any of the other flavors and that a favorite for such foods and beverages was firmly linked to how "dark personality" the individual this.

I stopped consuming sugar when I quit smoking, many years ago! Is this a special category or am I still a problematic personality?
