Epistemology: The study of the development of knowledge. There are four ways of "knowing"

  1. Empiricism: We know things through observations
    Examples of what you know through observation
    If a tree fell in the woods, and we weren't there to hear it, would it make a sound? How would you know if you are not there to observe?

  2. Rationalism: We know things through reasoning the out, forming theories, hypotheses, and ideas
    have you ever reasoned out something that wasn't true?

  3. Authority: People tell us stuff and that's how we learn it
    Is there anything you were once told by someone of authority that is true? Is not true?

  4. Intuition: What your "gut" tells you... However, it's not really your gut... It's your unconscious cognitive processes that picked up on a pattern your cortex didn't
    When is the last time you went with your intuition rather than facts?
