RE: How to Cope with Stress? (Part 6) Run and Hide

in #psychology6 years ago

That’s why we shouldn’t judge other people or ourselves for reacting in a bad way.

I found that this is hardest than cope with the stressfull situation myself😊. I have had a bad experience last month and my mind told me to share it with my husband, so I tell him clearly and positively asking for help. But,an unexpected reaction he showed me after that just make the situation worst than I hope.

I'm a well trained people to cope with stressfull situation because I'm kinda person who will not escape from any situation but better face it and take any risks as long as it will solve my problems comprehensively. I'm not an expert on coping with stress.. but through many books and articles I read, I tried to deal with it and find the right solution after I write down everything on my book until I realise that it is the time to talk to an expert😊.

Thank you @insight-out for the wrap up😊 at least I know that I did the right thing to cope with stress all this time☺

Yeah, sadly, sometimes it is very difficult to react in a proper way when one is emotionally involved with the other. There are no perfect people. For example, my reaction would differ if my husband tells me he has problems at work and if a friend shares the same information. In the first case, I will most probably be more worried than supportive of my husband. I the second case, perhaps I would be more supportive of my friend than worried. As a result, my friend would feel better after talking to me. On the contrary, my husband would probably feel even more worried after sharing his thoughts with me.
Fortunately, we can always rethink our reaction and go back and try to make things better :)

It sounds like you are an active-coper! This is great! I find writing down (reflecting) very helpful, too! I do it every time I feel overwhelmed or too confused.

Thanks for leaving such a meaningful comment @cicisaja!

I met a lot of less fortunate people in the past, mostly women and children from rural areas and they face so many stressful situation in internal conflict situation then the bad understanding on islamic law.. epven I have own problem but listening and supporting them is the most good way to cope with my own probs, I find so many ways to understand tge situation and the best way to handle it.

I'm an introvert once... but through many books I read and then I write.. I find it easy to talk frankly and based on what I think and feel. I can't let my probs go to the dark place and hide. Problem solving approach better than whining and screaming your anger I think.

But.. still, I'd better take care my own problem before telling my hubby in the future 😂😂😂 I can't control his feeling.

Thanks to you too @insight-out 😉 I like that we can have this kind of discussion.

I completely agree with you!

Just like you, I have also found that often helping others helps me deal with my own problems. :)
