Self-confidence and self-esteem

A picture of yourself you create all your life. Between early childhood and adolescence, children begin to ask questions what they are actually thinking about themselves, what they do and how to do it. By asking these and other questions and seeking answers to them, the children are trying to better understand himself. Creating an image of itself create a framework for the way of experiencing the world around them and the way we communicate with him. Entering the middle childhood (from 6 to 12 years) are replaced by feelings of children towards them. Self-image is becoming more complex and more refined. They begin to realize that they have unique qualities.

Self-confidence and self-esteem

The difference between self-confidence and self-esteem which is called self-awareness and the understanding of self and our relationship with what we know. Healthy self-confidence says: "I'm fine and I'm worth more by the fact that I exist!" I am valuable, but because of its very existence! The person was pleased with herself, calm is relative to itself. The low level of self-confidence / self-esteem marked a constant feeling of insecurity, self-criticism and guilt. Samosvijet can be developed both qualitatively and quantitatively during the whole of our lives. Confidence about our ability, skill; What are we doing well and what we are skilled or what we are clumsy and unsuccessful. It is more external, acquired traits. For example: "I'm a good mathematician." "I have no talent for singing." A lack of confidence can be solved by using objective feedback. Confidence is growing in parallel with the achievement.

For the life of people is even more important self-esteem. Self-esteem as a reflection of their own and others' assessments. Self-esteem as a reflection of their own and others' assessments. Self-esteem is based on an assessment of the degree to which the child meets the developmental tasks, the assessment of school achievement and success in solving various social problems. It is important to know that self-esteem is not only a reflection of their own assessment but arises from the reaction of other people, especially people that we love and that are important to us. If children are accepted, respected and commended for what they are and what they are, it will start to accept both its positive and negative sides and will be with them to develop appropriate self-esteem.

Good view on self-esteem
Self-esteem, Self-image, and Self-Concept generated through a mechanism called "Looking-glass-self" that develops the personality in socialization. If you are interested I published on steemit a little study I made in my university 35 years ago, here, here and here.

Hi @lonewalker, I just stopped back to let you know your post was one of my favourite reads yesterday and I included it in my Steemit Ramble. You can read what I wrote about your post here.

hi lonewalker. thanks for the post. the image of the kitten and father image helps me understand how a 2 or 3 yo child can imperson such extreme self-confidence. i think it has to do with their wonderful imaginations. on the other hand, a child can be easily intimidated due to the disparity between what is real and not real. I am wondering what "Samosvijet" means as it is not searchable term right now in English. Is it a Croatian term?
