The engine 2.0 of the GLA 250 delivers 211 hp at 5,500 rpm and torque of 35,7 kgfm between 1,200 rpm. In practice, the impeller ensures vigorous accelerations from start to overtaking and retaking. The seven-speed automatic transmission of double clutch has quick and imperceptible changes - there is also option of manual changes in the steering wheel. And there is no lack of strength in any moment. The zero at 100 km / h in 7.2 seconds expresses well the sportsmanship of the crossover.
The GLA 250 is securely attached to the floor. There are no twists and the car is always balanced, either on a straight road or on more winding paths faced at high speeds. The steering has correct weight and gains more firmness when the crossover is pushed to the limit. The electronic stability and traction controls are there, but they hardly need to come out - unless it's a really abused driver.
The controls are all in classic places and within reach of the driver. It takes just a little while to gain intimacy with the numerous functions offered by the car. In the initial minutes of contact, perhaps the transmission in the steering wheel causes strangeness. But in a short time, it's easy to get used to it. The 7-inch multimedia center is packed with features, but the use is not so intuitive.
The GLA is quite large with good head and legroom. Although the suspension is not soft, only the deepest holes can bring discomfort to the interior. In this, they also help the extremely cozy seats with lumbar support and very prominent flaps - that efficiently hold the body of the front passengers in the corners.
The GLA 250 has adaptive brake lights, hold function - which immobilizes the car at temporary stops, such as at traffic lights, without having to keep the foot on the brake -, start assist on slopes, park assist - which parks the vehicle in transverse spaces and parallel, multimedia central with GPS navigation system and Bluetooth internet access, 10 GB memory for audio files and other devices that impress.
The trunks are good and the trunk holds 421 liters. The GLA 250 is not as spacious as an average SUV, but is home to four occupants. In the case of a fifth element, as in most models with their proportions, the rear passengers may feel some tightness.
The proportions of the GLA cheat. It has a common hatch lines, but in practice it shows an efficient compact executive crossover. In the 250 Sport version, it gains the visual AMG kit, which introduces front bumper with wider air intakes, unique 19-inch wheels and an air outlet that helps cool the brakes. The excess creases in the hood, sides and roof express the "nervous" side of your engine.
