Who doesn't love a good cocktail to lend an air of sophistication and adventure to their night out? From mojitos to margaritas to martinis, there's a cocktail to match every taste. If you are looking for a place to try out some popular cocktail drinks, Gigi's Hoxton is a cocktail bar in Shoreditch, London with a very relaxing atmosphere. So what are the top ten most popular cocktails?

1 Old Fashioned

Almost two centuries old, this whiskey classic still hasn't lost it's appeal. On top of a sugar cube, stir bourbon or rye whiskey with Angostura bitters and club soda, then serve with ice and orange peel.

2 Negroni

This simple, elegant gin concoction is a firm favourite. Combine gin, campari, and sweet vermouth in a shaker and serve over ice.

3 Daiquiri

A Caribbean classic, a true daiquiri is made with white rum, sugar syrup, and lime juice. Shake well and garnish with a slice of lime.

4 Dry Martini

For this ice cold classic, combine dry vermouth with either gin or vodka and garnish with olives and lemon. And unfortunately Mr. Bond, it should be stirred, not shaken.

5 Whiskey sour

A classic every-man cocktail, the whiskey sour is a popular choice. Mix bourbon or rye whiskey with some lemon juice and sugar. Egg white is optional.

6 Espresso Martini

This modern classic combines vodka, espresso, coffee liqueur and sugar syrup. While not a 'true' Martini as it lacks vodka or vermouth, this is the perfect cocktail to keep the night rolling.

7 Margarita

The most well-known tequila cocktail, the margarita deserves more than pre-mixed slosh. Instead, salt the rim of a glass, then mix silver tequila, Cointreau, and lime juice in a shaker and serve.

8 Manhattan

Having been given a new lease of life thanks to the rise of rye whiskey, this strong classic never disappoints. Combine whiskey, sweet vermouth, Angostura bitters and ice and garnish with a brandied cherry.

9 Mojito

This refreshing Cuban classic was apparently loved by Ernest Hemingway. Mix white rum, lime juice, sugar syrup, and mint leaves with club soda.

10 Aperol Spritz

For this easy aperitif, combine Aperol, prosecco and club soda in a glass and garnish with orange slices. The perfect pre-dinner treat.
