when Cello Piano and Family comes together...
Last and coming week this unusual and quite extraordinary duo - Ella & Nicolas van Poucke - is playing the entire Beethoven's works for Cello and Piano at the most prestigious concert hall in Amsterdam (Concertgebouw Amsterdam).
"Why they are so Special?", you may think
Well - for starters - they are family; Sister and brother to be exact. She is the older one (mid 30s), he the younger (mid 20s).
Not that extraordinary, but how many brothers and sisters do perform together while they both are that good they win prices and awards all the time? Ok ok, not too extraordinary, but what about this?
When studying, when finding their ways, their interpretations of the classical pieces, they both want to get what they want and fight for it. In an interview they both said: "We are going pretty far when it comes down to getting what we want and tell each other everything without any hesitation, without any filter."
Maybe that is why their performances sounds so good!?
I've included below a very recent recording of this brother and sister, Ella & Nicolas van Poucke. Certainly a piece of music and performance I do really like!
...and You?
