The russians have recently come up with a new and improved blockchain technology that is quantum-safe, which has never been seen. The current and up-to-date blockchain technology is not quantum-safe or “quantum-proof”, and it is used to send and receive millions and billions of dollars every year, yet alone every day.

Having a blockchain used by almost everybody who transmits cryptocurrency that is not quantum-safe means that in the next few years, whenever we are advanced enough to figure out quantum computing, quantum computing can be used to crack the hashes and private keys that protect and store your cryptocurrencies when being sent through the blockchain. If a hacker were to steal your bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies with quantum computing to crack your hashes whenever you sent it, all of your funds would be lost, and this is why it is a huge vulnerability that the current blockchain technology is not quantum-safe, because quantum computing is very real and will be in the hands and knowledge of hackers very soon.

The Russians have very recently solved this epidemic issue and made their own blockchain that is completely quantum-safe and whenever cryptocurrencies are sent across their blockchain, funds cannot be tampered with using any source of quantum computing. This is big, but one concern raised from Hyperion analyst named Steve Conway is that, “The challenges with creating a quantum computer increase dramatically with the number of qubits," Conway says. Another thing he adds is that, “a serious deployment of the kinds of blockchain security capabilities the Russian Quantum Center is describing would require using thousands of qubits.”
Conway is worried that because of the large number of “qubits” needed, otherwise known as a quantum bit, the basic unit of information in a quantum computer, needed, he doubts the russians were able to secure a blockchain technology using that large of an amount of them needed to make the new quantum-safe blockchain technology. Although, if the Russians developing this new and safe technology could supply the huge amount of quantum bits needed to make this new blockchain work, it will be a game changer in the cryptocurrency world and transferring bitcoin from one place to another would be safer than ever before.

If the Russians put this new invention in the hands of a larger cryptocurrency company that can supply a large enough data center for all of the quantum bits needed to fuel this new innovation, this technology would ultimately improve overall crypto security and say bye bye to quantum hackers, making trading cryptocurrency a better and safer place for everyone.
