Question About Powering Down! (Correct Answer gets a 100% Upvote)steemCreated with Sketch.

What I do know about powering down your steem power is that you get 1/12 of your steem power exchanged for liquid steem every week for 12 weeks.

Lets break down some math, 1 divided by 12 is: 8.33%
1000 x 8.33% = 83.33

Meaning if someone had 1000 steem power they would recieve 83.33 steem every week for 12 weeks until their steem power is depleted

Here is my question!
Let's say we are still talking about that same user powering down their 1000 steem power. Assume they still author posts on steemit and power up all of the gains. They are still making decent steem power gains each week. Would the power down only power down the original 1000? Meaning at the end of the 12 weeks they would have all of the steem power they gained since powering down? Or would it include the new steem power gained into the weekly power down?

yes

you type in the amount you want to power down -so it will stay the same unless you alter it along the way

No it will power down the first 1000 as was originally instructed. If you want the rest included, then you have to cancel power down and power down again. It will now include the new money you might have made. You also get interest on SP, so even if slowly you powered down everything, you will be left with the interest you made.
