Furbee

This year, a friend of mine didn't have enough space at her home to keep two rabbits. So, she decided to gift me a beautiful Mini Rex called Furbee. He was really shy but still managed to socialize with me, my boyfriend and other guests who visit us often. When he got home I let him stay inside the cage for a couple of weeks and would take him out from time to time to get used to his surroundings. after some time, I let him free roam around the house because I learned that rabbits are supposed to have a good amount of space to do a bunkie (run around and jump around really fast) and explore.

After taking care of him for a few months we came home and fed him his pellets, I guess he was really hungry and ate his pellets fast. My boyfriend noticed him ran under the bed and vomited through his nose. Now rabbits don't have a gagging reflex, so that's why his vomit went through his nose instead. I felt not so worried at first but when I saw getting weaker and weaker by the second, my heart dropped. We called our local vet but they didn't give us the right advice to save him. My boyfriend and I felt so helpless because we didn't know what to do. Furbee was our first rabbit and pet together, we didn't know how to react. So after he had given up we found out some simple steps on how to prevent him from choking.

I felt really sad and it kept up all night because I was really upset and couldn't stop crying. But I moved on in the end. He gave me a lot good of unforgettable memories. He was there when I was upset and he managed to cheer me up with his cuteness. He will have a special place in my heart.

Rest in peace, my love.
