The Legend of the Rainbow Warriors, a belief held by some modern environmentalists that they are fulfilling a Native American prophecy

There will come a time when the birds will fall from the trees,
the rivers will be poisoned & the wolves will die in the forests.
But then the warriors of the rainbow will appear & save the world.

Prophecy Attributed to the Cree and/or Hopi Indians

The Rainbow Family of Living Light (commonly shortened to the Rainbow Family) is a counter-culture, hippie group, in existence since approximately 1970. It is a loose affiliation of smaller groups and individuals, some nomadic, generally asserting that it has no leader. They put on yearly, primitive camping events on public land known as Rainbow Gatherings.

In 1962, the book titled "Warriors of the Rainbow" by William Willoya and Vinson Brown attributing research into Hopi prophecies. The book The Greenpeace Story, states that Greenpeace co-founder Bob Hunter was given a copy of Warriors of the Rainbow by a wandering dulcimer maker in 1969 and he passed it around on the first expedition of the Don't Make a Wave Committee, the precursor of Greenpeace. The legend inspired the name of three Greenpeace ships, Rainbow Warrior, used in environmental protection protests as well as the name of the hippie group, the Rainbow Family.

Those who attend Rainbow Gatherings usually share an interest in intentional communities, ecology, New Age spirituality, and entheogens. Attendees refer to one another as "brother", "sister", or the gender neutral term, "sibling." Attendance is open to all interested parties, and decisions are reached through group meetings leading to some form of group consensus. Adherents call the camp "Rainbowland." The exchange of money is frowned upon, and barter is stressed as an alternative.

Entheogens have traditionally been used to supplement many diverse practices geared towards achieving transcendence, including white and black magic, sensory deprivation, divinatory, meditation, yoga, prayer, trance, rituals, chanting, hymns like peyote songs, and drumming. Use of psychoactive substances that induce a spiritual experience for spiritual development, used to heal people, and to learn how to defend yourself from malevolent sorcerers who would steal energy. The spiritual significance of entheogens is well established in anthropological and modern contexts.

In 2015, a group of Native American academics and writers issued a statement against the Rainbow Family members who are "appropriating and practicing faux Native ceremonies and beliefs. These actions, although Rainbows may not realize, dehumanize us as an indigenous Nation because they imply our culture and humanity, like our land, is anyone’s for the taking." The signatories specifically named this misappropriation as "cultural exploitation. The similarities between the Rainbow Prophecy and the other Native American prophecies should not be overlooked however.

The seven fires of the prophecy represent key spiritual teachings in the life of the people on Turtle Island (North America), and suggest that the different colors and traditions of the human beings can come together on a basis of respect. It predates the arrival of the Europeans, and contains information for the future lives of the Anishinaabe which are still in the process of being fulfilled.

In the Great American Indian novel, when it is finally written,
all of the white people will be Indians and all of the Indians will be ghosts.

I found my native American religion and sweatlodge at rainbow. Felipe Chavez of KidVillage is a honored Elder.

The Standing Rock protest is backed fully by rainbow. And other eco activists gather and organizing happens.

But to appropriate something that's freely given? This is how it works. This is freedom and unorganized chaos.

How about talk about Jessica's video? Civil rights abuses and kidnapping...
The Shootout at Kid village? How many rounds were expended from chemical weapons and how many children were not only gassed but some were shot by paintballguns dispensing pepperballs in wild full auto sprays? Machine guns were pulled out and families were terrorized.

Time and time again there is a rouge element of forestry service "officers" who extrajudicially attack and charge people. Even for crimes that are legal... Like possession of the healing herb Cannabis in Oregon and Washington. Violate laws and human dignity.

Why is the world blind to this and willing to allow such sick people to have a job.

Why when I talked and smoked with them last year?

Hahahahahaha that's not a comment that's getting votes.
