OLE VIRGINNY

Upon observing the current governor of Virginia, I cannot help thinking about the French Revolution and the Russian Revolution, as they are salient examples of the foolish, feverish minds of men at work, as they imagine repairing the world by destroying emblems, some of which are iconic, of past times of a kingdom, empire or nation. While it may be wise to clean one's hands prior to commencing some projects, who but a deranged person would cut off his hand?

Perhaps it is instructive that prior to the French and Russian revolutions, strangers to the targeted kingdom were smuggled into it to participate in the destruction and the killings.

Governor Northam is on a destructive tear. While he has not ordered the same level of destruction in the Comradewealth of Virginia as was commanded by General Sherman during his "March to the Sea" through Georgia, the burning and looting was provided to Comrade Northam by BLMs and AntiFas. Nevertheless, concerned comrades of Virginia feared that "white supremacists'" might attempt to save a vanity or two from the bonfires.

It cannot be an accident that minds made to feel pain by the sight of a figure on a horse, as such an image unleashed a flood of fevered thoughts of Simon Legree types lashing out at the Uncle Toms of the Antebellum South, would rally to Governor Northam's "Cause."

The governor of Virginia is a narrow, autocratic sort of thinker. His tenure as Virginia's governor began inauspiciously. He had not revealed his soft Marxist inclinations at the outset. The mask was dropped about the time a picture surfaced which showed a few young men apparently at a party -- perhaps a costume party. One of the young men wore "dark face" makeup, after the fashion of a minstrel character. This young man, a student at Eastern Virginia Medical School, was said to be Ralph Northam, who is the current governor. Needless to say, this created a contretemps. The news media was more than curious.

There were calls for Governor Northam to step down. He refused. Instead, he began a long, embarrassing abasement, trying desperately to prove that he was not "a racists."

The civil rights lobby initially was negative and cool to the Democrat governor. However, as they observed his shameful effort to meet even the wildest goals which they had set on their wish-list agenda, the dawning realization occurred that they had stumbled across the "mother lode" of Marxist programs hidden behind a screen of blackface makeup. They quickly became a bodyguard, and then an enthusiastic, protective cohort.

Thus shored up, Ralph Northam began his evolution into Virginia's version of Francois "Papa Doc" Duvalier, the late and sinister autocrat of Haiti. He even began his version of Papa Doc's Tonton Macoute, taking care to be surrounded by large, sturdy African American guards. Even the Richmond-Northern Virginia Irish Mafia seems impressed.

Comrade Northam has not ordered George Washington's Mount Vernon Mansion burnt to the ground yet, but can it survive the Marxist storm Northam unleashed? What about the Custis-Lee Mansion in Arlington National Cemetery? Washington & Lee University? When a man in high office goes mad, where can his "repair of the world" whirl next?

Outsiders to a kingdom or nation do not partake in its history gladly, for they have no roots in it. They want to start over. They want to replace. Then they are ready to talk about "planting roots."
