When a student at Nebraska State asked Bill Gates and Warren Buffet, if you could get a superpower, what it could be? Gates answered, “Being able to read super fast.” And Warren Buffet echoed him, adding, “I’ve probably wasted 10 years reading slowly.”

Not surprised Bill Gates reads 150 pages per hour and Warren Buffet reads +500 pages every day with an astonishing reading speed > 600 words/minute to read maximum number of books in lesser time. The good news that SPEED READING can be learnt and there are proven and effective techniques one can double/triple their reading speed and retention as well.

The average reading speed of an adult is anywhere between 225-250 words/minute. Speed reading is a skill one can develop with proper techniques and can not only double/triple their reading speed but also can improve concentration and retention.

The most common problem why people read slow is Subvocalization, it involves saying words in your head while reading and it’s one of the main reasons why people read slowly and have trouble improving their reading speed. Minimizing subvocalization will help boost reading speed, but also helps improve comprehension.

Adopting few proven techniques, as shared by me in the below video , can double/triple your reading speed and also improve concentration and retention substantially. As a result, in a less time you can read and comprehend more.
