Captain Marvel - Review - Scale 07/10

in #realityhubs5 years ago

Hi Everyone, we start with a small review of this movie, which being an adaptation after several Marvel sagas, leaves much to be desired, for this reason I have left a score of less than seven!

There was much talk about this superhero who came to lead the Avengers and finally came to start the anticipated franchise led by women of Marvel Studios, in its beautiful Cinematic Universe.

Commenting on why Captain Marvel was chosen to bring the newest member of UCM to life, producer Kevin Feige said: “We thought it was the right time to finally introduce Captain Marvel to the world. He is one of the most popular and powerful characters in the comics and will now be one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. ”

But much more was said about who would interpret it, Brianne Sidonie Desaulniers, Brie Larson for the friends, who was in charge of taking the mantle of Carol Danvers and, without shaking anything, achieved everything she hoped to see and more. Since that SDCC in 2016 when during the Marvel panel and in front of thousands of fans, Kevin Feige announced that Brie Larson would be Captain Marvel, the countdown to the film that I personally waited so long began.

Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel is based on the Marvel eponymous comic book series, first published in 1967. The filmmakers were attracted to the comic book version created by Kelly Sue DeConnick in 2012 , whose character approach served as a general inspiration for the film.

A movie of origin that is located almost at the beginning of a Universe installed in the fans ten years ago, Captain Marvel occupies the position number 21 and is carried out in the year 1995. What locates it after Captain America: The first avenger , temporarily speaking.

Higher, further, faster

The argument goes something like this:

Carol Danvers / Vers (Brie Larson) is a Kree warrior with memory loss, somewhat rebellious, under the training and constant orders of Commander Yon-Rogg (Jude Law), who is in charge of Starforce. The commander is the mentor of Vers and a respected warrior of the Kree army, which is also made up of Minn-Erva (Gemma Chan), Korath (Djimon Hounsou) and Bron-Char (Rune Temte), among others, and who are constantly War with the Skrulls, a race of alien metamorphs.

Ambushes go, ambushes come, General Talos (Ben Mendelsohn), leader of the Skrulls, takes Vers as a prisoner to delve into memories that she didn't even know existed.

Which brings them to the planet C-53, better known as Earth and thus, in a few words we reach the fabulous scene of the Blockbuster. Vers kicks a pair of green aliens and manages to escape in a ship, to land in that beautiful and nostalgic place.

Of course, someone with that look mightily attract attention and agent Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) soon arrives with the new one, Coulson (Clark Gregg).

While Carol struggles to unravel her past, a large part of that past is linked to Maria Rambeau (Lashana Lynch), who has been her best friend since her days as a test pilot for the United States Air Force. It is here that the search for her true identity begins and to discover what led her to completely forget her life on Earth.

Carol Larson or Brie Danvers?

It should be clarified that they allowed me not to be objective with this film, so here we go. There was a lot of noise before the premiere of Captain Marvel due to certain statements taken out of context by Larson herself. The film is clearly not aimed at an adult audience of fragile masculinity (if you know what i mean). We are in the year 2019, MADUREN, because if not, they will suffer a lot, since Kevin Feige said that Carol will be the leader of the Avengers in the very near future.

Some of the criticisms went to his body, then to his expressions and the list is long, meanwhile Brie prepared himself physically and comically (yes, that word does not exist, now he will). He took his training for the role very seriously. He devoted two to four hours a day, five times a week, to training that consisted of a combination of boxing, kick-boxing, judo, wrestling and jujitsu. The actress managed to lift more than 110 kilos in deadlift exercises, 180 kilos in hip push barbell exercises and even managed to pull a jeep. Both Brie and Lashana Lynch visited the Nellis Air Force base in Las Vegas, where they received training in an F-16 fighter. Brie Larson also had the opportunity to meet and spend time with Brigadier General Jeannie Marie Leavitt, who was the first female fighter pilot of the United States Air Force in 1993, and was the first woman to command a combat wing of the USAF.

Marvel with M for Women

  • Captain Marvel is the first franchise in the Universe

  • Marvel Cinematic, starring solo by a superhero.

  • Anna Boden, who directs along with her lifelong partner, Ryan Fleck, is the first female director in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

  • The story is by Nicole Perlman, Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse, and the script is by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, and Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Jac Schaeffer.

  • And the music is in charge of the composer Pinar Toprak (Krypton, Fortnite).

Brie Larson really knew how to capture the essence of what Carol means to us, but be careful, because she also knew how to mold it for those who fell into the room by chance. It is the movie that I would have loved to see at age 10, the representation that was missing is beginning to be completed thanks to characters like Carol Danvers or Diana Prince, because let's be honest, the only hatred that was planted from the beginning was for the simple fact that Captain Marvel or Wonder Woman are women.

There were many campaigns against, from encouraging not to see the movie, the negative "reviews" on Rotten Tomatoes, until the post-credits scene leaked. And many other things, but here the most important thing is that Captain Marvel turns a deaf ear and responds in the best way being the sixth best historical world premiere of a movie, the second highest grossing movie of 2019 (so far), and exceeded the half a million spectators in its first week, comfortably leading the box office of Argentine cinemas.

Personal Review

I am not surprised that it is added before End Game, to give a spin to a happy ending, because without Tony Star alive, the entire Thanos Universe would not have been saved, by adding this key character, everything descends from a mysterious twist, but Come on, this movie is not so bad, we expect a little more from Marvel Studios, and we want to know what will happen to those who stopped being ... Now we understand Everything more clearly!
